UOW Library electronic resources
Databases and electronic journals
Databases and electronic journals provide access to the journal literature within particular academic disciplines.
User account and password required to access UOW databases from outside Australia
You will need to enter your UOW username and password to access UOW databases. You should receive on enrolment your user account username and password.
Some databases require additional passwords, which can be obtained via the Library Catalogue.
Electronic readings
You can locate electronic readings for your subject by using the Search the Electronic Readings / Short Loans Collection option on the Library Catalogue. Type in your subject code or lecturer's name to view a list of materials for your subject. You will be prompted to enter your username and password at the login screen the first time you access a reading in any one Internet session.
Electronic books
The e-book collection includes recent editions of titles covering a range of disciplines.
Document Delivery Service for postgraduate research students
- You can only request articles and chapters
- Be sure to state "OFFSHORE" in the "Additional information" field on each request form.

Internet resources
Relevant Internet resources are available to assist students and staff in particular subject disciplines, including subject-specific resources arranged by Faculty.
E-Reference resources include materials such as online dictionaries, encyclopedias, Internet search engines, guides to citation styles, and many more.
An Evaluating and Citing the Internet Tutorial will assist you in using Internet resources for academic purposes.

The Email a Librarian service allows students and staff from the University of Wollongong to request information and reference assistance from anywhere in the world.

Computer system requirements for using the Library's electronic resources
To use the Library's electronic resources, students must have access to their own computer with Internet access or to a local institutional information technology infrastructure with reasonable connection speeds and download times.
Access can be significantly affected by local firewalls, security, bandwidth and etc.
The minimum IT requirements are:

The version of the browser must support frames, JavaScript, and accept cookies in order to access the databases and read full text material.

Follow Me Printing
Everyone hates to queue. With this in mind, we have introduced Follow Me Printing. You can choose any free printer/copier in the Library or a printer in the Student Central labs to release your print job.
