History

1996

The development of the original Research Edge - Postgraduate Information Skills program was originally funded by a teaching development grant from the Grants and Awards Subcommittee of the University of Wollongong Education Committee in 1996.

This first course was designed as a 3 day workshop to address the research and information retrieval skills required by postgraduate students.

2002

Research Edge was then translated into an online version in order to better meet the needs of all of the UOW’s students and staff.

2004/2005

Research Edge was last updated in 2004/2005. Emphasis was made on promoting active learning by including interactive elements that are embedded throughout the tutorial. Additionally, the tutorial accommodates different learning styles by including extra graphics and animations. Additional content has also been added to address the Australian and New Zealand Information Literacy Framework (2004).
