International Standards
The site can also provide electronic access to ISO, IEC, JIS and ETSI standards.
Access is not automatic. Users may apply to have standards unlocked. When an academic staff member makes such a request, the standard will be unlocked. If students request standards be unlocked they will be asked for a supporting statement from their supervisor. Once unlocked the standards are available to everybody for the remainder of the current subscription period. The unlocked standards may be accessed by using the My International Docs link on the left hand navigation options. The Library unlocks the standards and is invoiced for each standard unlocked, which is why students need their supervisor's support.
Before requesting that international standards be unlocked check to see if there is an Australian standard that is equivalent to the international standard by doing a search under the International Equivalents tab.
DIN standards are only available to purchase as a one off PDF or hardcopy, BSI only available to purchase in hardcopy |
