Who is eligible to borrow?
ULA (University Library Australia Borrowing Scheme):
From 1 March 2003, all current students and staff of the University of Wollongong.
- All students and staff are able to borrow from other university libraries under the University Library Australia (ULA) reciprocal borrowing scheme.
- ULA is not intended to supplant the home institution as the primary supplier of information resources, but is designed to act as a supplement to the home institution service.
- ULA conditions and fees are set by the host institution; the home institution has no control over these.
- ULA borrowers generally have more restricted borrowing and usage conditions than host institution students. This is only natural given the host institution's primary responsibility to its own students, and the limited annual fee (generally $50 - less than that cost of a single hardback book) paid by ULA users. For more information, see: http://www.caul.edu.au/ula/
Which libraries can I borrow from?
The current list of affiliated libraries includes most Australian university libraries.
How much does it cost?
A fee may be charged at the host institution. It is the responsibility of each person to establish whether a fee is payable, and to apply through the institution from which he/she wishes to borrow.
Return items to the Library you borrowed from, DO NOT return them to UOW Library
Failure to comply with borrowing conditions at the host library may result in your borrowing privileges being blocked at the UOW Library.
How do I register?
You will need to apply directly at the library from which you wish to borrow. Students must provide proof of current enrolment AND current student ID card, and staff must provide proof of current employment AND current staff ID card. A fee may be payable - this is at the discretion of the host library.
Duration of borrowing privileges
Borrowing privileges are valid to 28 February of the following year. A new authorised application form is needed each year.

Follow Me Printing
Everyone hates to queue. With this in mind, we have introduced Follow Me Printing. You can choose any free printer/copier in the Library or a printer in the Student Central labs to release your print job.
How does it work?
