Off-Campus Library Services for UOW distance education students in Australia

Who can use this service?
- Students formally enrolled in a course or subject offered through distance education by the University of Wollongong can use off-campus Library services.
- PhD and Masters by Research students living outside the local (02 42) telephone code area can use off-campus Library services.
- GSM Phase 2 Session 2, Phase 3 students and GSM Clinical Academics living outside the local (02 42) telephone code area can use off-campus Library services.
- Students living in metropolitan areas with access to a local university library are encouraged to use the reciprocal borrowing arrangements available to them.
- Students enrolled at other University of Wollongong locations (Batemans Bay Education Centre, Bega Education Centre, Loftus Education Centre, Moss Vale Education Centre or Shoalhaven Campus) should use their local University of Wollongong Library service, including Intercampus Document Delivery.
- Students enrolled in flexible delivery subjects should use their local University of Wollongong Library service. If living in metropolitan areas with access to a local university library, they may use the reciprocal borrowing arrangements available to them.
Important points:
- If you live in the local 02 42 telephone code area, you will be expected to use the Wollongong Campus Library in person for the borrowing and return of materials.
- If you live outside a metropolitan area, or do not have access to a local university library collection, Library materials will be mailed to you but you will be responsible for the return postage.
- You may be able to borrow from other libraries through the University Library Australia (ULA) borrowing scheme.
Borrowing conditions and renewals
- Borrowing conditions are determined by your user category.
- Borrowed items may be renewed, provided that they have not been requested by other borrowers.
- Items must renewed on or before the due date.
- Renewals can be made by contacting the Loans Desk on 02 4221 3545, or you can renew items yourself using the View your borrowing record function on the Library Catalogue.
- Journals or serials are not for loan. Free copies of requested articles may be copied and sent to you, providing this does not contravene the copyright regulations.

- Requests are subject to copyright legislation
3. Send requests via the Web
- If you have a UOW ID card - place requests for items held within the University of Wollongong Library AND for materials available elsewhere through our electronic document delivery service. (Write 'Off Campus' in the Additional Information field on each request form.)
- GSM Phase 2 Session 2 students should write "GSM Phase 2" and for hardcopy items include a current mailing address in the Additional Information field on each request form.
- GSM Phase 3 students should write "GSM Phase 3" and for hardcopy items include a current mailing address in the Additional Information field on each request form.
- Clinical academics should note "GSM" in the Additional Information field.
Delivery and return of items

Please pick up and return items in person from the Wollongong Campus Library. - Living outside of the local 02 42 telephone code area?
Library materials are posted to the address you provide at the time of request. You are responsible for return postage.
